THE WALLS OF GERONA
Let's take a look at the walls of Girona. This wall, enlarged by the Romans, dates from the Carolingian period in the 9th century. It is the most extensive Carolingian wall in Europe.

The small town of La Bisbal d'Empordà, near Girona, has been known for its ceramics for four hundred years. You can buy cups, pretty ramekins with little ears, tulip-shaped hanging baskets or vases in soft colours.
